I would oversee children from 3 months to 5 years old. I mostly worked with 2 year olds and it was my responsibility to ensure that they were safe and well cared for. I would feed, change, and entertain the kids. I would communicate with parents during pick up and drop off about how their child fared throughout the day. I would clean the room after all of the kids left. If there was a kid who needed additional accommodations then I would make sure that happened.
For my position I had to be able to plan events, communicate with different organizations, host meetings with other students, adapt when things went wrong, take constructive criticism, and speak at school assemblies.
From my sophomore year to my senior I was apart of my school's journalism program: CavPLEX. During my senior year I was Co-Editor-in-Chief of the online publication The Saber. I also worked as a staff member on RNE TV Live, the morning news show. I worked behind the scenes as a camera man. I also worked in front of the cameras as an anchor and live interviewer. Throughout my three years in the program I also worked on the yearbook, the literary magazine, and as a photographer.
As a member of the RNE Mock Trial team, I learned to speak well in public, think on my feet, work well with others, tell an engaging story, read critically, pay attention to details, balance different roles within the club, and improve draft after draft of the same material.
