⁃ Coordinated a collaboration between the Pediatric Interest Group and a nearby elementary school (Echo Lake Elementary) for their STEM night. The STEM night is intended to spark the kids interest in both science and engineering by having scientists/engineers and health professionals set up interactive exhibits and displays for the kids to gain interest in various fields of STEM. This collaboration will now continue annually with the Pediatric Interest Group.
⁃ Coordinated Pediatric Interest Group member participation with the University of Washington Medical Center’s Transition Care Clinic. This clinic’s goal is to help patients with complex medical needs, their families and their healthcare providers transition from child-centered to adult-centered care.

⁃ Increased the preceptor pool via preceptor recruitment marketing within the UW School of Medicine and decreased barriers to onboarding preceptors.
⁃ Spearheaded the addition of preceptor appreciation in which preceptors received hand written thank you cards for donating their time and expertise with UDSM.

05/2022 Volunteered at Sea Mar Latina Health Fair with the childcare center. I was in charge of the child care center in which I conducted activities for the kids to stay busy while their parents and family members receive medical care.
06/2022 Volunteered at the Oral Health Month Tabling event to give out tooth brushes and tooth paste and give people information about the school’s clinical services
11/09/2022 Spoke at a pre-dental panel Q&A to answer pre-dental student’s questions about dental school including tips for admissions, adjusting to dental school
11/11/2022 Volunteered with Teeth and Toes at Mary’s Place Women’s Shelter providing head and neck exams, oral screenings, answering patient questions and concerns, and referring patients. Teeth and toes is an interdisciplinary collaboration between dental and medical students in which dental students conduct head and neck exams, intramural exams and the medical students provide foot exams and wash and clean the patients feet.
01/28/2023 Volunteered as a CHPA (Community Health Professions Academy) mentor. The CHPA is a program aimed towards high school, junior high and middle school students from minority or underrepresented communities interested in dentistry, medicine, public health and other healthcare related fields. As a mentor, I helped the scholars go through a few activities related to dentistry including an activity with a typodont and instructing a diabetes case study.
