  • Communicating with the client, discussing the project. Finding out their needs, wants, and the budget for the project.
  • Drawing up plans for the project, if needed, and submitting them to the city after approval by the clients and acquiring the proper insurance policies.
  • Laying out the project, whether we were adding on to the existing structure with a concrete slab or pier and beam, or building a separate structure. Also, making sure electrical and plumbing were in the correct areas. If licensed electricians and plumbers were needed, they were utilized. If not, these trades were performed by myself and my crew.
  • Framed houses with various siding options, including brick, Hardie siding, vinyl siding, and different types of metal, such as R-panels, etc. I also framed barndominiums inside metal buildings.
  • Generated a material list, ordered the materials, arranged for the delivery of the materials, figured out the pricing list, and the budget for the project.
  • Training new workers for the duties required of them.

  • At the Hill Country Galleria, I oversaw 13 different crews and daily activities on a project of 1,000,000 square feet of retail and property 1 mile wide. Everything from erosion control (installing silt fencing, pumping ponds) to the removal of approximately 3,000 unwanted trees, and having the crew install tree protection around the desired trees.
  • Oversaw the excavation of roads, detention ponds, retention ponds, building parking lots, building pads, and installing dry utilities such as electrical, gas lines, drain lines, sewage lines, and irrigation lines.
  • Communicating with inspectors at each stage of the project to ensure each phase was in compliance with city codes, agreements of contracts, and per drawings.
  • Every day, I had to fill out a daily report on which contractors were working, how many workers they had for the day, and what they had accomplished for that day. What the weather was like for that particular day.
  • Direct the day labors in their daily duties, and supervising them on their projects.
  • In overseeing these activities, I was also the safety officer, ensuring the safety of my crews and the property, with the quality of work performed.
  • Then I got transferred to building supervision, where I was overseeing the quality control of the buildings and permits for tenants' contractors. Overseeing them, ensuring the quality of the work, safety for the workers, tenants, and the public. And making sure everything is up to code.
  • Then I got transferred to Houston Two Westway project,

There I oversaw the excavation of the building pad, which

this was a concrete tilt wall panel building 4 pads had to

be built to build walls on, inspection of concrete forms,

inspections of rebar all these needed to be preformed

and documented, overseen the standing of the concrete

walls, hanging of the steel and steel decking.

I also overseen the metal stud framing, hanging of

sheetrock, electrical, plumbing, window installation,

HVAC, installation of the elevator
