
To obtain the position of Director of Curriculum and Instruction brining a focus, dedication and drive, impacting the highest levels of achievement for all students, enhancing and strengthening staff via strong, consistent and relevant professional development and aligning both with the District vision and core values ensuring the unrelenting pursuit to be world class.
• Collaborate with teachers to develop and conduct in-depth training specific to Student Achievement Team processes enhancing and maintaining curriculum/national standards focus, developing mission/vision/core values, creating common formative assessments and setting student performance goals and objectives.
• Observe teaching methods and examine learning materials to evaluate and standardize curricula and teaching techniques, and to determine areas whee improvement is needed while connecting relevant and rigorous goals and adult actions directly to instructional implementation.
• Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate primary and supplemental staff.
• Evaluate curricula, teaching methods, and programs to determine their effectiveness, efficacy, and utilization to ensure that school activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Establish, coordinate, and oversee district-wide programs and systems at high levels within building, including ongoing evaluation and student academic and behavior achievement via RTI/EBIS, PBIS, Time to Teach classroom management, Anti-Bullying Stop/Walk/Talk, and SWIS data systems to track and guide decisions specific to school climate.
• Plan and lead professional development activities for teachers, administrators, and support staff specific to school and district continual improvement efforts, focus and vision.
• Determine allocations of funds for staff, supplies, materials, professional development and equipment, and authorized purchases.
• Determine the scope of educational program offerings, and create and prepare school-wide course schedules and descriptions to estimate and allow for necessary staffing and facility requirements, priorities and needs.
• Develop strong collaborative and trusting relationships with staff, parents and students via availability, accessability, clarity of vision and providing timely, relevan t and consistent feedback and follow through.
• Plan and develop instructional delivery methods, strategies and content for educational and student activity programs designed to intervene and enrich during and beyond the school day.
• Develop partnerships with businesses, community members, and other organizations/constituents to help meet identified educational needs and to provide vital support programs for families and students.
• Collect and analyze student data, community survey data, regulatory information, and data on demographic and employment trends to forecast enrollment patterns and curriculum change needs.
• Develop instructional technology vision and implement multi-year, school-wide technology plan paving eh way to becoming a 1:1 school in 2015-2016.
• Develop and implement district and school-wide equity focus, including culturally relevant instructional practices with a priority to eliminate the racial achievement gap.
