Ministry Experience

I am a permanent deacon for the diocese of Peoria, IL, ordained in May of 2017.  Since being ordained I have been blessed with an active ministry, including-

  • Leading marriage and baptismal preparation classes for my parish
  • Witnessing marriage vows, administering baptism, and officiating at funerals
  • Preaching once a month and leading a monthly Holy Hour
  • Distributing Holy Communion to the homebound in our parish
  • Current coordinator for the formation of permanent deacons in our diocese, which includes teaching classes and scheduling the formation classes for the six year program
  • Delegate to the bishop within the diocesan tribunal office. This assignment includes reviewing marriage preparation files which require dispensations or permissions for a valid marriage to be celebrated, and those cases involving previous marriages.
