In applying for the Engineering Supervisor position I hope to use the skills I have learned in my current position and the supervisory and management skills I have garnered in the past to make a positive impact on both the department and hospital as a whole. Focusing on safety, communication, and reliability to bolster efficiency in our work and relations with all departments served. Facilities Engineer Tech II

  • Monitor daily operations of facilities including environmental controls, electrical systems, and plumbing maintenance.
  • Collaborate with other departments for quick resolutions of safety or equipment issues.
  • Monitor critical pressure-sensitive areas within the hospital; perform adjustments as needed.

  • The Red Cent and Lagoon Saloon were both bar restaurants owned by the dame individual. I served as a part time bartender from 9/04 to 08/08. At which time I became the manager
  • Trained employees in all aspects of responsible serving, including; job duties, customer service, mixology, POS system, brand familiarity, and cleanliness.
  • Kept a constant open door policy with all employees to offer them an individual they were comfortable to bring questions, concerns, and disputes to without judgment, and the knowledge we would seek answers or resolutions with fairness and efficiency.
  • Always strived to bolster a team first mentality
  • Maintained communication between both front and back of house, and with the owner.
  • Handled inventory for both front and back of house. Working hand in hand with a variety of vendors.
  • Organized events at both locations giving guests customized options for their specific event. Making sure the inventory and staffing was on hand to ensure success.
  • In an environment such as this, the ability to think on ones feet, problem solve, and in many instances think outside the box to tackle unexpected issues that may arise. These could include guest issues, staff issues, and on the spot building and equipment repairs.
  • Handled the preventative maintenance of buildings and the bar equipment. A/C unit, furnace, coolers, kitchen equipment, etc.
  • Both buildings were quite old making the troubleshooting and repairs an interesting challenge. Plumbing, electrical, structural, and refrigeration equipment repairs required using conventional maintenance skills along with ingenuity to achieve lasting safe results.

Valve Technician/Branch Administrator

  • Actuated and automated both pneumatic and electrical valves for chemical plants and refineries.
  • Assembled automated valve packages ranging from 1/4" to 30" per customer specifications to accommodate the media type, environmental placement, and safety requirements.
  • Worked with high pressure pneumatic lines while bench testing new assemblies
  • Automated, wired, and tested electric actuators from 110v to 480v per customer specifications.
  • Reconfigured spring loaded actuators to fail open or fail close operation. Utilizing the necessary tools to safely disengage the housing from the internal springs then reassembling in the proper orientation.
  • For larger assemblies fork trucks and overhead lifts were utilized to safely move and orientate the product.
  • Installed smart telemetry units for multi-valve pipeline coordination
  • As the branch administrator I coordinated our shop with the sales departments in the seven states we serviced.
  • Worked with vendors to expedite needed materials.
  • Reviewed and proofed large orders prior to system entry.
  • Assigned projects as material became available.
  • Maintained inventory.
  • Served as a supervisor in the managers absence.
  • Performed routine shop rounds to ensure cleanliness and OSHA compliance
