My key responsibilities includes but not limited to:

Conducting comprehensive physical and psychosocial patient assessments and monitor for changes in their clinical status.

Develop, implement and evaluate individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Administration of medications through different routes, blood products and treatments safely while monitoring for adverse and therapeutic effects.

Perform clinical procedures such as catheterization, wound dressing, tracheostomy care, enteral feeding and specimen collection.

Provision of education to patient and family regarding diagnosis, medications, procedures and discharge instructions.

an Operating Room Nurse, I was responsible for creating, maintaining the sterile field and providing skilled assistance to the surgical team before, during and after surgical procedures. I worked effectively with the Multidisciplinary teams, participate in the use of the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist and ensure accurate surgical counts and Infection Prevention standards.

I prepare the Operating Room and ensure that surgical instruments, equipment and sterile supplies needed for the surgeries are made available prior to the procedures.

I ensured specimens were labelled correctly, handled and sent to the laboratory according to the hospital policy, document perioperative care accurately and participate in theatre turnaround.
