Summary

I have been employed with Montana Department of Transportation as a maintenance Technician for almost 25 years. I have Performed all the tasks asked of me. I have worked my way up from a Tech 1 position to my current position as a Tech 4. I have always looked forward to stepping up and performing new jobs and tasks when they are offered to me. Epoxy inspector crackseal inspector and most recently hot plant paving inspector are a few. I am very safety conscious and take all safety aspects very seriously from truck driving, plowing snow, flagging, mowing, cracksealing and whatever each day brings.

I was the Fire Chief for the Roy Volunteer Fire Department for about 12 years and have been an active volunteer firefighter for our department for close to 40 years as well as being a board member also.

I was a licensed EMT for the Roy Ambulance Service for 18 years and was the president of the Ambulance Service for 16 of those years.

I am currently the licensed water and sewer operator for the Roy Water and Sewer District. I have had this license for 27 years.

I also served on the Roy School Board for 3 years.

I played a very instrumental role in the construction of the new Emergency Services Building for the Fire Department and Ambulance service. I tracked the funding, organized fund raisers. When the funding became available I coordinated the construction of the facility with several contractor's.

Maintenance Technician IV

Plow snow and treat snowpack and icey areas on the highway to provide a safe traveling condition for the traveling public using a snow plow with salt sand and chemical deicer. Operate loader mounted snowblowers to remove heavy snow ares when necessary. Operate loaders to load trucks, to clean and shape ditches for proper drainage. Use the loader and dozer to reshape and repair slides near the roadways.

Operate mowers to provide better visibility along the roadway and to assist in winter roadway maintenance.

Operate culvert cleaners and backhoe to clean and ensure drainage and inspect for damage to culverts. Install culvert liners to maintain drainage flows and prevent damage to the roads due to culvert failure.

Order, replace and install new highway signs when damaged by weather, vandals or traffic accidents to keep the traveling public informed.

Operate a Bridge Snooper Truck to aid the bridge inspectors to perform under bridge inspections.

Participate and conduct monthly safety meetings, facility checks and inspection reports.

Flagging, traffic control and setting up work zones to provide a safe working environment for coworkers and ensure the traveling public flows thru the work zone safely.

Epoxy striping inspector for 14 years, 3 years as the lead inspector.
