Job Overview:
The Residential Aide reports to the House Manager. I was responsible for monitoring the residents, working closely with the supervisor, and communicating all activities of the house.
Duties
1. Embodied Eva’s Village’s core values, voice, and tone in order to provide an exceptional and effective experience for our clients, funders, employees, and volunteers.
2. I was completely familiar with all the rules of the program.
3. Maintained the sign-in/sign-out sheets.
4. Maintained the activities log with NA/AA meetings, a van, etc.
5. Maintained the communication book.
6. I was responsible for answering the phone, relaying calls, and taking messages.
7. I was responsible for mail distribution.
8. I inspected and ensured that all work details assigned to the residents are completed.
9. I was responsible for the security of the program. This included following the visitor protocol and observing the camera.
10. Monitored and documented client behavior.
11. I was flexible.
12. I was responsible for all incidents concerning resident problems being reported promptly.
13. I promptly reported to the House Manager any problems concerning the van, maintenance, supplies, or any household issues.
14. I interfaced with residents, referring their problems to the proper person, resulting in the residents getting the assistance they need.
15. Attended mandatory monthly staff meetings.
16. I was responsible for urine testing, breathalyzers, and the recording of tests and results.
17. Monitored and documented resident medication.
18. Reported all repairs and wear and tear to the House Manager.
19. I was responsible for the weekly inspection of rooms.
20. I was completely familiar with the policies and procedures of the program.
21. Performed intake and orientation for new clients to the program.
22. Learned, client-oriented system of care. This included the Client-Centered Approach, as well as the Trauma-Informed Care Approach.
23. Served as a liaison between the residents and house managers.
24. Oversaw periodic, special work details.
25. Facilitated didactic and educational groups as assigned.
26. Served as a role model.
27. Performed crisis intervention when necessary.
28. I was responsible for the arrangement of transportation for residents to meetings, hospitals, etc.
29. Performed tasks delegated by the immediate supervisor, within the scope of the policy and procedures manual.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Memorial High School - Diploma.
1983 - 1987
EXPERIENCE: Thorough knowledge of the 12-Step program, AA, NA, and the biopsychosocial model of substance abuse/dependence.
Ability to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish.
I am able to work independently and completed assignments with minimal supervision.
I have good interpersonal skills

Able to maintain objectivity and deal diplomatically with clients and family members.
I have at least five years experience in the field
