As a Supervising Special Education Assistant (SSEA),

• I supervise 15-30 Special Education Trainees/Assistants(SET/SEA) and Health Care Assistants(HCA).
• I conduct yearly evaluations,
• Create classroom assignments.
• Assign adult supervision to buses when needed, and oversee transportation for students.
• I conduct interviews with the special education team for teachers, as well as SET/SEA or HCA.
• I work with Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapists to ensure that everyone is properly trained to use all the equipment assigned to students.
• Work with Behavior therapist assigned from outside agencies. Maintained accurate records of student performance, attendance, and IEP goal progress.

As a health care assistant,

• I assist teachers and nurses by helping in the training and education of disabled students, presenting educational materials, assisting with exercises, and performing basic clerical duties, including charting students' procedures and progress.
• I perform under the school nurse's guidance basic nursing care 2-10 protocols prescribed by a physician, including: catheterization, gastrostomy tube feeding, oral suctioning, ostomy care, tracheostomy suctioning, administration of medication, and other procedures as assigned by the school nurse.

Special Education Trainee/Assistant,

• I assisted teachers in caring for 2-17 students with disabilities' physical needs and in presenting educational material and developmental exercises while learning the duties and responsibilities to promote to Special Education Assistant through the combination of experience and formal education.
• Conducted ongoing assessments of student progress toward IEP goals using formal testing instruments as well as informal observations during class activities.
• Utilized assistive technology tools to enhance accessibility for students with physical or cognitive impairments.
• Coordinated with therapists and specialists to implement related services as specified in each student''s IEP.
• Led small group instruction focused on building foundational skills such as reading fluency or math problem-solving techniques.
