Work History

DDG124 Acting Chief Superintendent and Hull Manager

General Dynamics Bath Iron Works
Bath
03.2025 - 12.2025
  • Supervised the construction, testing, and acceptance of all equipment and spaces aboard DDG124 to the United States Navy, ensuring all systems met the design parameters, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Completed three successful Sea Trials and achieved the highest INSRUV score since the restart of the DDG51 program.
  • Managed a team of over 200 mechanics and supervisors and hosted weekly meetings to communicate the ship’s plan of the week to set the expectations. Effective communication led to meeting all deadlines, decreasing cost while maintaining quality standards.
  • Managed the DDG124 Integrated Process Team in which multiple departments (supply chain, design, engineering, planning, operations, and quality) gathered daily to come up with solutions to improve the build process and align with BIW’s Business Operating System.
  • Coordinated inspections and loadouts with NAVSEA, as well as with the ship’s force, including ammo onload.
  • Represented the DDG124 team in daily meetings with upper management, briefing status on safety, quality, schedule, cost, and people.

Section Manager

General Dynamics Bath Iron Works
Bath
05.2024 - 03.2025
  • Paint Shop Section Manager in charge of supervising the paint department's daily operations to meet production schedules, safety standards, quality targets, and cost goals.
  • Developed an Earned Value Management System (EVMS) training for the Assistant Superintendents and Front Line Supervisors (FLS), along with training for the BIW Plan of the Week (POW) tool known as MKA.
  • Developed and managed the FLT IIA and FLT III class plan paint schedules for final sprays, tradeworks, and general inspections, specifically focused on machinery spaces. These plans reduced the final spray hours by 3,000 hours per engine room.
  • Developed and managed the FLT IIA and FLT III class plan decking schedules, which involved constant coordination with the test team to ensure the hull met its deadlines, decreasing the typical 11-day duration of a poured blue base deck to 8 days.
  • Created and managed an Operational Improvement Plan, which primarily focused on cost-saving initiatives, looking at new blasting technologies and resource allocation.
  • Identified process failures and implemented process controls to improve quality adherence, resulting in a 42% reduction of Navy CARs.

Area Supervisor II

General Dynamics Bath Iron Works
Bath
03.2023 - 05.2024

  • Reported weekly to the VPs and President on my units' metrics for Safety, Quality, Schedule, Cost, and People, providing the baseline for all future FLT III vessels.
  • Conducted daily safety and housekeeping audits to engage employees to validate understanding and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Reviewed detailed schedules with production control and FLS prior to unit arrival to adjust the plan as necessary.
  • Created and communicated Plan of the Weeks for the FLS based on the detail schedule. Walked jobs in advance of adding jobs to FLS’s plans to ensure first-time quality and avoid any potential delays.
