With over 28 years at Prisma Health Upstate, I've leveraged my expertise in respiratory equipment setup and patient advocacy to significantly improve patient outcomes. My role as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and RRT Clinical Coordinator has honed my skills in airway management and team collaboration, ensuring high-quality care and education for patients and their families.
Assessed patients to see if the therapy ordered was necessary, and if not, changed it to the appropriate therapy. Attended rapid responses within the hospital which consisted of patients who weren't doing well and required more attention than that of the acute care nurse. Made recommendations for those patients.
Rounded in the intensive care units with the physicians and suggested ventilator or therapy changes with permission from the attending physicians. Attended to these patients respiratory needs in conjunction with the patient’s assigned unit therapist.

I have alpha 1- antitrypsin deficiency that prevented me from doing my job and last worked in March 2023. I was let go in October per the law, due to being out 6 months. I also received a liver transplant in October 2023. I am unable to return to being an ICU RT on a regular basis due to being immunocompromised.
