  • Hospital bed with rails, air pressure mattress will reduce pressure on skin and help to prevent skin breakdown and bed sores. bed alarm.
  • Wheelchair with gel pad or cushion. a walker . Make sure the home has a clear path to and from bathroom and other parts of the home. Access to outside. Ramp going in and out of home. Remove all tripping and tipping hazards .
  • Shower with easy access and hand held shower head.
  • Shower bench and shower floor slip guards.
  • Hand holds . Preferably handicap metal ones that won't

fail when grabbed.

Household tasks:

Keeping bed clean. Doing laundry, Bedding ,clothes ,bathroom towels ,etc.

Meal preparation and cleanup. Keeping home clean ,

Trash taken out and tied shut.

Refrigerator stocked and clean.

Bathroom clean.

Floors free from spills and mess.

Keep general order and cleanliness. Keep home environment healthy and safe.

2.Give a washcloth to hold while bathing to encourage client to help if they can and discourage hitting,

3, Keep clothes loose and easy to remove. No buttons.

4.While eating use solid colored plates to help identify food choices. Bigger utensil that are easy to hold and made of plastic. Nothing sharp. Plastic and pretty beverage glasses.

5.Maintain professional boundaries. Up hold families privacy. Open communication to ensure safety and well being of client.
