Discovering new ways to solve challenging problems

In High school, I noticed the lunch trays the school provided were made out of styrofoam which is not easy to recycle or biodegradable. I decided to talk to the teacher administrator and discuss a plan of action to switch from styrofoam trays to cardboard, even going so far as to bring a cardboard tray from a local restaurant. The teacher administrator seemed to have a lot of other things on her agenda and seemed disgruntled that this was just another tasks she'd have to add to her list. She told me it was a good "Summer project" but that there was nothing she could do now. The Pandemic began shortly after that and the plan never got put into action.
