I currently work on a medical, surgical, orthopedic floor, taking care of patients with a variety of different medical issues. From elective surgery to infected wounds, I feel well rounded in my nursing experience. I enjoy my job and take pride in providing quality care with compassion and efficiency. I feel that teamwork is very important, and I work well with others. However, I am also very independent. I come to work each day with a positive attitude and I feel that it transfers to my patients.

I worked as a preoperative and postoperative nurse on the outpatient surgical floor. I would prepare patients for surgery, and send them home after their surgery/procedure was complete. I enjoyed this position, but it became very routine. I did become very proficient in iv insertion during this time, and have been able to maintain this skill.

I was the charge nurse of a twenty-six bed orthopedic unit. It was a very busy unit with quick turn over. I took a full patient assignment in addition to performing unit secretary duties. I was also in charge of staffing the unit and the finalizing the unit schedule.
