Responsible for Doctor directed patient care within the Doctor's office ensuring they receive needed chemotherapy and infusions. Tasks include:
Scheduling and administering treatments such as chemotherapy, infusions, injections
Monitoring office drug supplies
Preparing chemotherapy treatment by combining prescribed drugs
Communicating continually with Doctor and staff
Creating and maintaining complete and accurate patient charts
Providing palliative and end-of-life care for patients and information to family members
Responsible for hip and knee replacement post operation patient care. Tasks included:
Assisting patients with Activities of Daily Life (ADL)
Administering medications including Patient Control Anesthesia (PCA) and Epidural (EPCA)
Coordinating with and assisting Physical and Occupational therapists
Creating and maintaining patient charts using unit procedures
Responsible for the operation of the medical/oncology unit's Outpatient Infusion Clinic. Tasks included:
Scheduling patients through physicians offices
Obtaining physicians' orders and maintaining current copies

Providing patient care services by administering IV infusions and/or hydration, medications (Fe, IVIG, Remicade, etc.), chemotherapy, blood and blood products, injections (procrit, neupogen, sandostatin, etc.)
Administering and teaching about anticoagulant therapy such as TPA.
Monitoring recovery of cardiac catheterization and biopsy patients
Assist with bone marrow biopsy and thoracentesis
Administering cortisone hormone stress tests

Responsible for the effective operation of the unit as well as RN duties described below:
Ensuring appropriate unit staffing by having the correct number of nurses and technicians based on the number of patients
Assigning patients to staff members
Communicating and coordinating with the hospital Nursing supervisor about staffing
Transferring patients on and off unit as necessary including assessing the need for critical care
Ensuring proper patient placement within the unit
Communicating with patients and patients' families
Preparing hospital documentation
Responsible for patient care:
Administering IV and IVP medications, chemotherapy, blood and blood products
Managing central line access care and use
Providing palliative care using PCAs
Obtaining written consent from patients for procedures and infusions
