I am very effective at working with clients, families and outside agencies on an ongoing basis and help clients achieve their goals to help them grow. I am a compassionate therapist who actively listens and builds trust to help clients resolve personal issues and achieve life goals. I act as a sympathetic guide and advocate to help clients navigate complex and stressful situations. I have gained a lot of knowledge throughout the years working for Johnson County Mental Health and The Center for Counseling and continue to grow and gain knowledge. My current job title is a crisis coordinator with the Center for Counseling and Consultation. Graduated from the University of Kansas with a Master's Degree in Social Work in August 2017 and received LMSW license in January 2018. I have completed my supervision plan and plans to sit for my LSCSW test. I feel that I would be a good candidate for the clinical director position due to my work experience, my dedication and hard work to those we serve and to our employees. Additional Information

  • Completed internship with the Barton County Sheriffs Office while attending Barton County Community College
  • Completed internship with probation and parole in South Carolina while attending Francis Marion University
  • Completed two employment based practicums at Johnson County Mental Health while attending University of Kansas. Practicum experienced included working with the Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) and Open Access.
  • My experience working with MCRT included: observational experience in assessments and screenings for the hospitalizations, crisis reception experiences, provided direct client contact services in regards to crisis situations, development of crisis interventions, and observed how mental health screenings are completed at the Shawnee Mission Medical Center, University of Kansas and Marillac.
  • My experience working with open access included: completing intake evaluations, triaging what services may be utilized at the mental health center and providing community resources to those in need of support in the community. I was able to provide direct client services in regards to crisis interventions and development of crisis assessments and utilization of theories of practice including strengths perspective. During my practicum, I had a small therapy case load. I was able to complete intakes with clients who had no insurance. I was able to shadow co-responder. Collaborated with team leaders, clinicians and case managers as needed. I worked with SUD clinician every week for approximately three months in a group setting.
  • Completed my LSCSW supervision plan and have a goal to re-take my exam to receive my LSCSW
  • I have a variety of work experience through my career with working in the mental health field. Even though I have only supervised one person in my career, I feel that I would be a strong candidate for the clinical director due to my work experience.
