
Lifelong learner with 34 years of experience in public elementary education and 4 years of experience in higher education. Passionate about teaching and learning. Special areas of interest include all aspects of literacy instruction, classroom management, brain-based instruction (including the use of music), public speaking, curriculum development and working with adult learners.
My duties include advising elementary education students, coordinating the placement of Field Experience students in area schools and participating in education program admission interviews and portfolio reviews.

Followed policies and procedures adopted by the Board of Education; supervised over 50 certified teachers and 18 classified staff members including secretaries, paraprofessionals and classroom aides; managed the building budget.
Followed policies and procedures adopted by the Board of Education, assisted elementary principal, handled discipline referrals for grades K-2, and conducted model guidance classes for grades 4-5.
Administered Title II Funding
Managed the Comprehensive School Improvement Program (CSIP)
Provided ongoing (3-year) comprehensive literacy instruction and literacy workshops in elementary schools across Missouri; Attended professional development sessions offered through (MRI).
Collaborated with literacy experts including:
El Dorado Springs R-2 allowed professional days to work with MRI in exchange for comprehensive literacy professioanl development.
Taught kindergarten and first grade self-contained classes, created and carried out dynamic lesson plans, kept and reported grades, collaborated with grade level teams, and communicated closely with parents.
