Followed policies and procedures adopted by the Board of Education; supervised over 50 certified teachers and 18 classified staff members including secretaries, paraprofessionals and classroom aides; managed the building budget.

• Interviewed teacher candidates, made recommendations to the Board of Education for hiring, teacher renewals and teacher non-renewals.
• Prioritized building budget and tracked expenditures for classroom supplies, textbooks, equipment, travel, and office expenses.
• Provided direct teacher development through observations, provided strengths-based feedback via a classroom walk-through format, noted "gems" and "opportunities," and encouraged reflective practice.
• Approved Professional Development Plans and maintained electronic portfolios for certified faculty.
• Established and participated in core content curriculum committees. Developed grade level pacing guides to guarantee curriculum.
• Provided literacy support for grades K-3 through literacy notebooks, consistent literacy posters, alphabet charts, and phonics materials.
• Supported math instruction through professional development and provision of manipulatives and materials for elementary classrooms.
• Guided and participated in Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) Tier I and Tier II teams resulting in the school's silver award recognition by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for successful implementation of a schoolwide PBIS program.
• Addressed student discipline through collaboration to establish consistent behavior expectations explicitly taught twice per year and reviewed routinely; emphasized positive behavior choices, replacement behaviors, and logical consequences through reteaching expected behaviors and emotional regulation.
  

Followed policies and procedures adopted by the Board of Education, assisted elementary principal, handled discipline referrals for grades K-2, and conducted model guidance classes for grades 4-5.

Administered Title II Funding

• Established professional study groups for K-12 staff
• Maintained all financial records for Title II programs.
• Organized district-wide Health & Safety Fair

Managed the Comprehensive School Improvement Program (CSIP)

• Worked closely with school superintendent and Board of Eduation
• Formed committee to review and establish school mission, objectives, and 5-year goals
• Led the district through a successful Missouri School Improvement (MSIP) on-site review

Provided ongoing (3-year) comprehensive literacy instruction and literacy workshops in elementary schools across Missouri; Attended professional development sessions offered through (MRI).

Taught kindergarten and first grade self-contained classes, created and carried out dynamic lesson plans, kept and reported grades, collaborated with grade level teams, and communicated closely with parents.
