I am a trustworthy, friendly, and loyal transcription coordinator with over 25 years of service in the medical field (hospital specialties, orthopedic office, and dermatopathology). I value the quality of my work to ensure the safety of each individual patient. I demonstrate trust by maintaining confidentiality. I possess excellent spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills. I love helping people in need, whether it be a co-worker or a stranger.
Since February 2023, I have worked as a transcription coordinator. The tasks I perform on a daily basis include researching reports that are placed on hold by the transcriptionists for various reasons and ensuring the reports are uploaded into the EMR in a timely manner. I answer the main department phone and take calls from patients looking for the ROI department. Sometimes I receive calls from other departments within the hospital or physicians, asking me to make corrections to acute care reports. I monitor the transcription Teams chat and will assist with issues they encounter. I've learned how to transcribe pathology grosses and will assist with the volume of work when needed. Another task I perform is entering new physicians into our dictation system.
