I love to read, crochet, volunteer in ways to help others.

I'm not one to just sit and do nothing and I like to keep my mind active.

I've had a love for reading my entire life. Because of this, I don't mind reading reports or going over forms.

I love to do things for people and I've found that crocheting and making afghans and other items and giving them to others not only makes them happy, but it fills me with happiness as well. Crocheting also is very relaxing and a great way for me to unwind at the end of a busy day.

I enjoy helping others and our community:

* I volunteer at Bargain Hut:

      ~I empty the donation bins.

~I have been on the Board for 15 years (currently the Vice President, also served a term as secretary) assisting with day-to-day operation decisions, security, approving new volunteers, doing State Police background checks, etc.

~I am on the Scholarship Committee.

~I am on the Community & Fire Assistance Committee.

* I am a Salvation Army volunteer for Wells County where I assist with the hydration station for the Fire Departments when they are battling the larger fires and will be on scene for hours.

* I have been on the Wells County Health Fair Board since 2009 (until Covid, we haven't held a Health Fair since).

~ Attend the board meetings and help make the preparations and decisions for the Health Fair.

~ Assist with the set-up of the Health Fair.

~ Assist with the operations during the Health Fair.

* I am currently the Woman's Ministry Leader for Celebrate Recovery at The Chapel in Fort Wayne. (This is a Christ centered recovery group for anyone with any hurts, habits or hangups, where confidentiality is a high priority).

~ I help organize the yearly schedule.

~ I teach some of the lessons.

~ I help organize large events.

     ~ I lead small groups.

~ I lead and participate in step studies.

~ I prepare a monthly meal for anywhere from 60 to 100+ people.

~ I assist in the tech booth with the slides.

* I assist at my church (Park Community Church).

~ I run the Power Point.

~ I run the FaceBook live for service.

~ I assist the music director as a PA when we have large service events in production.

* I have packed "goodie bags" for our law enforcement departments in Wells County every May for years and currently packing them for Portland Police Department. I also crochet an afghan and 1 person wins the afghan.

* I pack "goodie bags" for Wells County EMS, Inc. every May for years. I also crochet an afghan and 1 person wins the afghan.

* I love the Medical Alert part of my job at Wells County EMS, Inc.

~ We are one of the only, if not the only medical alert program in the nation that is 100% local.

~ In 2008 I started EMS and this program was already established. I grew this program for approximately 50 people to over 200. Once people started getting rid of landlines, this program has shrunk to approximately 120.

~ This program is under Bargain Hut and when I leave EMS I will be taking this program with me and continue it as a Bargain Hut volunteer.

~ I get to go into the homes of the elderly and visit with them and start establishing a personal relationship with them.
