
Thirty six years of nursing experience in a variety of settings. Working with different levels of healthcare professionals. Staff nurse and charge nurse duties.
Direct care of preoperative and postoperative patients. Recording patients history, medications and illnesses. Direct patient head to toe assessments. Identifying potential risk factors for surgery. Starting IV's, drawing labs, interpreting medical records, and performing EKG's. Orienting new RN's and nursing students. Instructing patients and families in home care after surgery. Working with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses.
March 2020-June 2020 caring for COVID ICU patients. Currently, caring for COVID surgical patients.
Working in the endoscopy unit assisting with procedures including cardioversions and TEE's. Monitoring patients during their procedure and their recovery.
Acting as charge nurse for the endoscopy, same day surgery, and PACU areas.
Currently a Clinical 3 RN. Member of the UPC, Safety and NPED committees.
Forensic Nurse Examiner. Specialized nursing skill and training of sexual assault, human trafficking, domestic abuse: children and adults. Forty hours of classroom training of adults and pediatrics along with clinical training with experienced nurses. Photography, DNA collection, physical and emotional follow up of patients. FMH requirement of 60 hours call per month. Maintains certification through MD Board of Nursing. Works with social worker, Heartly House, nurses and medical staff for the care of the patient.
Worked on a general pediatric unit with ages 1 month through 8 years of age. Cared for sick children and their families. Learned how to take care of the whole family.
