As i started at the breast center as a Receptionist, i was the first contact of the office. I then was promoted to a medical assistant as i was doing the job of both for awhile. I gained good patient experience by greeting patients in a warm and professional manner. Answer phones, triage calls and inbasket the appropriate staff, check patients in and out with a follow up appointment, schedule imagining and other tests if needed. I will prep charts as well as rooming, taking vitals and drawing blood. Scan any information that's needed into our system, upload imaging CD's as well as requesting them. Being responsible for ordering clerical supplies, laundry and sending off any specimens to labs. Will help assisting with any wound care or chaperone. Setting up the room and supplies for the provider with any equipment thats needed, bring any instruments to be cleaned and sterilized. Verifying any insurance coverage/ ensure all relevant information was updated into patients chart. I will cover and help any other medical assistant/ department within our oncology building when needed. I obtain my ACA#2 within a year of being promoted.

As a per diem HHA/PCA i take care of the elderly, Making sure they get ready for the day.. meal prep, assistance to bathing and dressing, toileting, making sure bed bounded patients are comfortable and turned frequently, documenting patients intake such as Bowel movements, weight, food intake etc , laundry is washed and folded, Oral hygiene and restocking any supplies that's needed in each patients room, making their bed and making sure area is stationary, using mobility devices and equipment to transport any patients, assist with any help in the kitchen.

As a per diem private care giver for many years, i will help the elderly that's in need with any assistance such as: bathing, oral hygiene, laundry, meal prep, errands, light house cleaning, transportation to appointments and companionship. I will provide help to patients with their daily life activities to be sure they're comfortable and make them feel independent the best that i can with their day to day challenges.
