With over two decades of law enforcement experience, including a significant tenure with the Illinois State Police, I've honed my expertise in evidence analysis and sensitive information handling. My collaborative efforts have significantly enhanced public safety, showcasing my ability to lead and innovate in high-stakes environments.
I worked in the Violent Crimes Unit for my last 10 years. This unit is now known as the Department of Criminal Investigations. My duties as a Special Agent within this unit were to investigate death investigations, sexual assaults, public integrity cases, and all other types of cases where other agencies called our department to handle due to a potential conflict.
My first 10 years working with the Illinois State Police, I was assigned as a trooper, I worked my first 2 years out of the state police academy in District 16 (Pecatonica), before transferring to District 20 (Pittsfield). As a trooper, I enforced traffic laws, handled traffic crashes, assisted multiple departments when police assistance was needed.
I was awarded the Medal of Honor, for deescalating a suicidal subject with a loaded shotgun, in 2006.
