My duties as a lube tech are to maintain accurate oil levels, perform oil changes , take samples , and grease all equipment in the coal yard and cooling towers.. I know every belt and the path they take to get to the units I know every inboard and outboard bearing , backstop and gearbox in the coal yard.. I also help my coworkers in the units, sludge, and lime prep .. I don’t know all there is to know but I’m willing to learn and further my knowledge of IPSC given the chance..
I was the purchasing agent for 2 yrs but when the oil field boom slowed down instead of my brother in law who I trained under me get laid off I chose to transfer in the company to be a heavy equipment mechanic/welder so he wouldn’t lose his job I had a service truck with a crane that I was responsible for my daily tasks varied from working on All sizes of caterpillar and komatsu dozers, semis with belly dumps or heavy haul kozad trailers, and large paddle trenchers.. I was trained in lock out tag out procedures during this time was also trained in other safety classes and procedures due to being in the oil field and on Native American land..
