I am currently a licensed funeral director in the state of Iowa, following 2012 graduation of the Des Moines Area Community College Mortuary Science program. Prior to becoming a funeral director, I gained many years of management, customer service, sales and employee relation skills through other industries. I began gaining management experience at Wilson's Leather as a retail store manager. I expanded on this knowledge managing a department at Target as well as managing a Hollywood video while returning to school to further my education in Auto Body. This led to my position as Fleet Maintence Manager at Hertz Car Rental where I gained valuable experience in management and accomplished top manager in the nation in the areas of warranty retention and vehicle resell value in the rental car
industry for 3 consecutive years. This accomplishment continued in my career as collision estimate manager at Stew Hansen Dodge. When I decided to pursue a career change, I continued to advance my management skills after building on the foundation of my education. Starting with Iles Funeral Homes I was able to utilize my experience by becoming a chapel manager. Here I led teams of people to conducted funerals for hundreds of families during my employment. Most recently my employer, Wallace Family Funeral Home, has continued to utilize my management experience both in the prep room and in policies and human resources they were lacking.
