Began career as a sample pickup driver, and over the years gained experience and certifications in both the laboratory and field eventually being promoted to laboratory manager.

I am familiar with many field related tests such as in-place density testing of soils by mean of both sand cone tests and nuclear density tests, testing fresh concrete, performed base plate grout inspections as well as epoxy embedment inspections.

Able to read and interpret specifications and testing frequencies for various jurisdictions.

As a lab technician/manager I have been intimately involved in the day to day operations of a commercial construction materials testing lab. This has included upkeep of equipment calibrations, overseeing accreditations for CCRL and AASHTO. This included resolving non-conformities during on site assessments.

I know how to perform and report many laboratory tests on concrete, soils and asphalt, including strength of concrete, sieve analysis, proctor, R-Value, direct shear, consolidation, expansion index, atterberg limits, extraction/gradation of asphalt, Rice (maximum theoretical specific gravity), marshall testing, HVEEM, retained tensile strength. I am familiar with both ASTM and AASHTO standards.

I enjoy training people to perform these tests in the safest most efficient way possible.

Assisted ACI Examiner during certification courses, by examining the performance of examinees on test methods and practices based on the certification in question.
