As a Nurse Extern in the Surgical-Trauma ICU (STICU), I support patients at their most vulnerable state. I care by assisting with essential tasks and gaining essential hands on experience that is needed to work in an intensive care unit.

• IV Insertion
• Urinary Catheters
• Rectal Tube Placement
• Bladder Scans
• NG Tube Insertion
• Patient Comfort

This position has allowed me to further my interest and goal of becoming an intensive care registered nurse. The skills I have gained on this unit will allow me to be successful on the Surgical-Trauma ICU or other Critical Care Units.

Responsibilities:

• Assisted in preparing laboratory materials and equipment for student experiments.
• Supported instructors by organizing and maintaining lab spaces for optimal learning environments.
• Facilitated hands-on learning by guiding students through lab procedures and safety protocols.
• Monitored student progress during experiments, providing real-time feedback and assistance.

I worked at the front desk of a very busy golf club.

Managed phone calls, customers checking in for tee times, selling merchandise.
