Varsity Football Coach

Football coaches, also known as trainers, have many responsibilities, including:


  • Planning Coaches plan, organize, and conduct practices, and develop strategies based on their players' skills and the strengths and weaknesses of opposing teams
  • Managing Coaches manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions. They also recruit players, retain a full squad, and manage the team's budget.
  • Motivating Coaches motivate players before and during games, and help them keep a positive mental attitude and self-discipline
  • Teaching Coaches use instructional techniques and media to improve players' abilities, and may also teach physical education classes
  • Leading Coaches lead from the sidelines during games, and are key decision-makers who ensure players are prepared for every eventuality
  • Other Coaches may also travel with the team to away games, provide guidance on nutrition and injury prevention, and perform first aid when required.
