Tricia Richardson

Responsible for teaching Maine Department of Education Certification Approved Course “Teaching the Exceptional Child in the Regular Classroom.” This post baccalaureate class is required by all teachers and ed techs in the state of Maine and is taught as a hybrid of synchronous and asynchronous learning through Google Classroom.

Responsible for providing direct math and language arts instruction to identified gifted students grades 2-8 in four different schools. Collaborated with classroom teachers to provide coordinated support in order to meet the specific needs of high achieving learners. Administered CoGAT and SAGES testing for referred students. Acted as a liaison for parents of gifted children. Coached a Girls on the Run team, as well as a Chess Club grades 3-5 which had 80 members. Mentored a new teacher seeking Maine State Certification and served as a member of both the GT Advisory Board and schoolwide Data Team.

• Developed and led instruction in all core subject areas for 4th & 5th grade. Member of Data Team, GT Advisory Team, and Assistant Chess Coach. Worked collaboratively in grade level PLC team, and coordinated collaborative science STEM integration with the University of Maine Ambassador Program.

• Led instruction in all core curriculum subject areas
• Taught a gifted cluster class for 3 years, and also team taught, focusing exclusively on language arts
• Served as drama club leader/director and hospitality committee co-chair for 2 years
• Wrote and received a grant from the Norfolk Education Foundation to publish hard bound books for all third graders as a year-end literacy project.

• Completely responsible for organizing and staffing community events, public health screenings, and professional education programs for physicians
• Served as the organizational liaison to several local health coalitions
• Wrote and received over $100,000 in grants from local foundations for the placement of Automatic External Defibrillators (AED’s) in the community
• Completely responsible for management of the American Heart Walk with income totaling over $100,000, including Volunteer Recruitment, Logistics, Sponsorship, Communications, and on-site Wellness Fair.
• Position also involved recruitment and management of schools for Jump Rope for Heart/Hoops for Heart program resulting in income over $200,000.

• MS 150 Bike Tour and MS Walk Coordinator
• Completely responsible for the management of the MS 150 Bike Tour and MS Walk with income totaling over $500,000, including Volunteer Recruitment of over 600 cyclists and 3,000 walkers, Logistics, Sponsorship, Communications, and on-site Wellness Fair.

• Primary objective was to fundraise over $700,000 from assigned business units
• Other responsibilities included developing and enhancing relationships between United Way and corporate leaders; analyzing local companies to establish campaign goals; recruiting, training, and managing over 100 campaign volunteers and Loaned Executives.

• Prepared strategic plans and directed programs for soliciting from conception to completion.
• Enhanced direct mail program for annual giving and alumni membership to increase annual donors.
• Supported program fundraising committees with annual fundraising efforts.
• Coordinated large-scale events to engage with donors and provide presentations regarding fundraising initiatives.
