Caring for adult son with Cerebal Palsy

Caring for my 32-year-old son is an integral part of my life, and I am committed to ensuring that he receives the necessary care and support. Placing him in a nursing home is not an option as it would negatively impact his overall health and prevent him from receiving the specialized care he requires due to his Spastic Quad Cerebral Palsy. As a total dependent, he relies on assistance for basic tasks such as feeding, mobility, and opening doors. Currently, we face the challenge of not having a van to transport his power wheelchair, which limits our ability to leave the house.

Despite these challenges, I am dedicated to finding a balance between caring for my son and pursuing a professional career. He attends the Muletown Recreation Center from Monday to Friday, where he can socialize and engage in activities he enjoys. Insurance covers the transportation for him during these times, provided we have a home health aide available. However, there may be days when I do not have assistance, and in those instances, I would still be able to work for 8+ hours, albeit with intermittent breaks to attend to my son's needs.

I understand that this level of detail may seem unusual, but I believe in being completely transparent about my situation. While I may not always be available to answer phone calls promptly, I am confident in my ability to complete projects on time and contribute to a company's success. I am open to exploring opportunities outside of the Insurance Claims Industry and would be eager to utilize my investigative, research, and attention-to-detail skills in any role that aligns with your company's needs. I am willing to learn and adapt, and I am simply seeking an opportunity to showcase my abilities and make a meaningful contribution.
