The Harwood District is comprised of 19 city blocks and showcases premier offices, hotels, luxury residential, restaurant and retail development. With over seven million square feet of Class A construction, the park-like campus features a museum, garden cafes, pocket parks and curated gardens, and has transformed Uptown Dallas into an attractive destination.
In charge of all new pursuit projects with nearly 3 million square feet of completed construction, including 4 office towers, 1 luxury condo tower, 1 high-end boutique hotel, 15 restaurants, and additional 5 million square feet of projects in various planning stages. Performed market analysis to identify areas where new developments can be profitably built. Coordinate closely with the Development, Hospitality, Capital Markets, and Corporate Service divisions, and liaise with government officials on entitlements, zoning and permits.
Established and headed Harwood Design Factory (HDF, LLC) as in-house design firm to provide complete planning, architecture, interior design, and construction management services for all of Harwood development projects. Assembled a team of more than 30 direct reports comprising of architects, interior designers, construction administrators and support staff. Planned and directed the development of multiple Class AA office buildings, luxury residential, hotel, restaurants, as well as master planned developments within and outside of Harwood District.
Completed over 2.75 million square feet of construction valued at over $1.5 billion. Result: Increased Harwood’s building portfolio by over 95% from the previous 24 years.
Created over 800,000 square feet of office leasable area with approximate lease value of over $300 million. Result: Increased Harwood’s lease value by over 75% from the previous 24 years.

Urban Design Group (UDG) was a professional architectural, interior, planning and urban design services firm with studios in Atlanta, Chicago, Georgia, and Dallas, Texas. Founded in 1975, by John M. Novack Jr., after leaving his position as Design Director at C. F. Murphy Associates of Chicago. The organization grew steadily, designing several urban projects, including Rivercenter in San Antonio, Texas; One Tabor Center in Denver, Colorado; Disney's Wilderness Lodge in Orlando, Florida; and Carlson Center in Minnetonka, Minnesota.
Responsible for the overall design and management of large-scale, mixed-use developments in the U.S. and Asia. Performed all phases of project lifecycle, including site evaluation and selection, master planning, code analysis, proforma/financial analysis, feasibility study, conceptual design, bidding, and construction administration.

RTKL was a global architecture, planning and design firm. The firm was founded in 1946 by Archibald C. Rogers and Francis T. Taliaferro in Annapolis and grew to be one of the largest architectural firms in the world prior to its acquisition by Arcadis NV in 2007. In October 2015, RTKL was formally merged with Seattle-based Callison, another Arcadis subsidiary, to form CallisonRTKL headquartered in Baltimore.

The firm was active throughout the mid-1990s with various development projects including hotel and resort, office, residential, industrial, and transportation.
