Individualized care of a wheelchair bound student with trach and gtube needs in a classroom setting. Assist with opening items at meals. Assist with bathroom needs via two person transfer and assistive device. Accompany student on bus and field trips. When student is absent, assist other health room nurses as needed.

• Care of postpartum women, babies, pediatric patients, and women's surgery patients

• Assist with birth and infant care immediately postpartum
• Vital signs, assessment, and breastfeeding assistance from birth through discharge
• Discharge teaching on postpartum and infant care
• 24 hr and 72 hr postpartum visits
• 1 wk and two week follow up calls

• Care of premature and/or sick babies
• NAS scoring and medication
• IVs, fluids, medications
• Umbilical lines-assistance with placement and maintenance
• Maintenance of IV fluids, TPN, and lipids
• Feeds-PO, gravity, or feeding pump
• Attend deliveries when needed

• Caring for extremely premature to term infants born with instabilities needing further evaluation and treatment
• Including but not limited to hypoglycemia, respiratory distress, surfactant insufficiency, extremely low birthweight, anomalies, gtube, tracheostomy
• Observe patient status and consistently update physician on any new symptoms or concerns
• Update patient charts with most current information on medication, symptoms, and mental status
• Keep detailed and accurate records during patient examinations to ensure quality of care
• Regularly measure patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, and blood sugar
• Checked prescribed medication before administering to patient to ensure correctness
• Administer medication to patients
• Collect blood, urine, and other specimens for laboratory testing
• Communicate effectively with soft tone and sensitivity
• Calmed upset or worried parents by prioritizing their needs
• Advocate for patient needs by thoughtfully addressing their concerns
• Develop relationships with patients and address any concerns
• Assisted physicians during patient examination or procedures by preparing equipment efficiently
• Assist with paperwork for patient discharges or transfers

• Caring for high risk antepartum, postpartum, and newborns
• Assess heart tones, VS, and fetal movement and any signs of labor
• Observe and assess for excessive bleeding and appropriate fundal tone postpartum
• Assess for DVT
• Assist with breastfeeding
• Assess newborn color, VS and for any signs of distress
• Weigh, measure, and do footprints
