I completed the Basic Law Enforcement Academy in December of 2017 and was hired by the New Smyrna Beach Police Department approximately a week later. At the completion of Field Training, I was assigned to Patrol for the duration of my tenure. During that time, I was assigned as a part time and eventually a full time Field Training Officer. I was responsible for managing a new recruit for at minimum 12 shifts. This included training, correcting and documenting everything the recruit did for period of time. I was also selected to drive the MRAP and become a drone pilot. I studied and passed the FAA Part 107 UAS course to receive my license, which I have held current since.
In March of 2022, I was hired by the Edgewater Police Department and assigned to Patrol after completing another Field Training process. In January of 2023, I was again assigned to be a full time Field Training Officer. I was also selected to be a drone operator and a primary Marine Unit Operator upon the completion of the IPTM Marine Enforcement Operations course.
In November of 2023, I was selected for the Targeted Impact Unit as a full time member. During my tenure, I have conducted multiple residential narcotic investigations, street racing and other long term cases. I have also obtained multiple certifications including Motor and multiple instructor courses to provide whatever skills necessary for the agency. Keeping positive relationship with Patrol and other specialty units was also a key goal of mine while on the Targeted Impact Unit. I demonstrated my ability to work self-supervised throughout the multitude of investigations and ever changing work schedules. Due to this, I was awarded the 2024 Officer of the Year award by our agency.
