Tristan Martini

I Joined DECA as part of my plan to be exposed to much of the business world as i could. My first year at DECA, as a freshman, I was able to make it to DECA state competition by scoring very high in the DECA district test. I was able to show raw talent in business matters. At the DECA State Competition I gained knowledge in business and preparation skills for oral presentations.

For the Wolfson Homecoming I coordinated efforts with our team to collaborate and successfully complete large decoration projects. This demonstrated leadership and project management skills.

• Supported logistical planning efforts for activities, ensuring timely execution and resource allocation.
• Communicated amongst team members to enhance project collaboration and effectiveness.
• Found ways to work around roster changes and absentees.

I worked at my fathers business during last summer break. I was able to witness first hand how he dealt with his customers to maintain good reputation and gain repeat business. Teaching me vital communication skills that helped him connect with potential customers and handle any complaints.

• Customer service was the most important thing that my father taught me. Making customers feel important and going the extra mile could lead to future business, as they would tell others about the good service they received.
• I learned the value of a good work ethic and following orders from my father, to prevent mistakes and make sure the operation ran smoothly.
