My first year competing in the International Soapbox Derby ended up being a very fun experience. In my first race, I won the Colorado State Championship to qualify for Akron, Ohio which is where the World Championship is held. I stayed in Akron for about 3 weeks preparing my car and on the last week I won the World Championship. Then, this year I almost became a two time World Champion but fell short and got 2nd place in the Championship. However, I won the Allstar race two days prior. By doing this activity I have learned to problem solve, focus under pressure, and have a strong mindset.
