  • This position was granted to me during my summer with family in Montana; I was able to complete the internship course accordingly.
  • Each day comprised many of the same tasks, focusing on keeping the plants healthy. Every pot that wasn't on the drip system had required hand-watering.
  • Customer service was our primary objective to ensure that the business maintained its reputation within the community.
  • Miscellaneous tasks arose with the shift into summer, ranging from potting the bare root strawberries to setting up for the community events that Gardenwerks holds.
  • Basic garden center tasks like pruning and consolidation were also completed as needed.
  • I was personally given different objectives to complete as the nursery ramped up for summer. This came in forms such as relocating trees and organizing sections with the influx of new species.

  • This job opportunity was provided in the form of a paid internship during my first summer of college.
  • Our team was responsible for maintaining the 1-5 gallon potted-plants, ensuring that inventory maintained efficient counting and spacing.
  • Regular consolidation, pruning, staking/tying, and weeding were performed to maintain the appearance of the nursery's stock.
  • Our team had monthly check-sheets that would give us the scientific names, number, and location for a given species. Times spent for a task would depend on the plant species and location's volume.
  • Alternatively, I was instructed to go to the Color Division, where Sunland's eight greenhouses are located.
  • Tasks at the CD mainly comprised: watering/fertigation, potting soil for future transplants, routine care for many of the seedlings/flowering plants being grown.

  • Cleaning onion seeds throughout the first few months of the semester; utilized time-management skills to sanitize, dry, and bag the seeds for shipping
  • Working around the Fabian-Garcia Science Center to perform routine weeding throughout the onion crops
  • Driving out to different fields under the school's ownership to continue groundwork prior to irrigation instillation
  • Weeding in preparation to construct a new botanical garden
