Providing care in an inpatient 3.7/3.5 level of care 112 bed facility, I work to treat co-occurring SUD and mental health disorders through inpatient, PHP, and IOP level of care.

  • In January of 2023, I worked with members of our corporate team to develop the criteria for the Dual Diagnosis Pathway to implement specialized treatment for patients with co-occurring disorders. This process was then disseminated to the other 9 sites nationwide
  • Provide collaboration across departments to develop patient-centered treatment plans and continuing care
  • Serve on a number of committees, including Quality and Process Improvement, Emergency Management, and Safety Committee
  • Facilitate medical lectures and CEU community events on various topics including medication management, MAT, therapeutic approaches, and medical interventions for co-occurring disorders
  • Occupy a Senior Leadership position

Working on the Overdose Data to Action Grant, I worked with a team developing an integrative outreach program based on the statistics derived from Marion County’s drug related deaths and emergency department overdose cases. Through this program we developed up to date evidence-based practices for prescribing practices targeting patients with substance use disorder.

Accomplishments

    Restore: The introduction of primary residential mental healthcare in the inpatient substance use treatment setting.

  • Spearheaded the creation and nationwide rollout of a comprehensive primary mental health program within an inpatient substance use treatment organization, launching the inaugural site and guiding replication at two additional centers.
  • Directed program architecture from concept through implementation, including clinical workflows, staffing model, patient flow, and integration with existing addiction-treatment services.
  • Overhauled the electronic health record (EHR) system to align with psychiatric best practices—building documentation templates, improving interoperability, and enabling real-time outcome tracking.
  • Developed program-specific quality and performance metrics to evaluate clinical outcomes, provider productivity, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborated in development of standardized screening and assessment tools to improve diagnostic accuracy, treatment planning, and continuity of care across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Currently, overseeing and managing the mental health program spanning the entire continuum of care, beginning with pre-admission screening and clinical triage, extending through individualized treatment planning, and culminating in coordinated discharge and aftercare planning.
