I left the shop to work in the BIM dept. which was a short 6 month tenure.

I started my journey at SMK as a welder/fabricator in the shop. Over the years I moved into a more senior leadership role. Running the shop when the foreman was away, and programming the burn deck with "Cybermation" software.


I also ran the coil line, and the "Spiral Tech" spiral pipe machine.


I happily worked here until it went out of business in 2009

HJ Burns was a General/Blow Pipe shop. I learned layout, welding, riveting and many other skills that are used in heavier metal work. I worked in the shop, and in the field building and installing blowpipe, cyclones, baghouses, etc.
