Summary

Troy moved from Texas to Zambia at the age of 7, where he grew up in the capital, Lusaka. He is now an award-winning editor based in Chicago, and the 2024 Sally Menke Editing Fellow. He was the editor and co-writer of the Oscar shortlisted film, Daughters, which premiered at the Sundance 2024 Film Festival, winning the Audience Documentary Award and Festival Favorite Award, and now streaming on Netflix. In 2021, he edited the two-part Participant Media short film A Revolutionary Act, exploring the family and legacy of Fred Hampton. In 2022, he edited horror feature All Jacked Up and Full of Worms premiering at Fantasia Film Festival, and the feature, Tahara, with the film's director, Olivia Peace. With a dual degree background in creative fiction writing and film from Northwestern, his editorial work focuses on depicting unique perspectives through the textures and rhythms of daily life, evoking emotion and insight through sensory experiences.
