Summary

Voted Top 50 Dealership in North America by RV Business magazine multiple times, also AV’s Best by the local Valley Press newspaper voting. I have lived here since I was just a few months old , we started in a mobile home park on the east side of Ave I and moved to Quartz Hill when I was 6 years old. My Father was a journeyman Lineman building power line around the area. We moved to Quartz Hill my parents built a home in almond orchards off 50th street west in Quartz Hill , we shelled almonds and lived a rural life for a while as I watched this area grow. My parents had several business interest from and interior design business , to a carpet store (Artistic Carpets) to a retail woman’s cloths store on Lancaster blvd across from the western hotel called ( Pure Imagination) to Real Estate brokerage (Dakota Properties) to then in 1988 my Father bought Young’s RV center in 1988. Prior to that I also worked for Dales Hitchin Station as a welder coming out of high school and worked a lot of city fence jobs and structural steel projects for the city. In 2021 we lost our oldest son Andrew to an accidental fentanyl overdose which prompted me to want to sell my interest in the RV dealership to semi retire and try to make a difference in the community , this is why I threw my name in the hat for the homeless commission. After roughly a year of meetings I realized the commission was full of folks who were involved in the contracts for funding and it seemed the commission was just show casing these organizations and very little was accomplished. The commission was disbanded with out a clear reason , but I also agree it wasn’t doing much to help the homeless so it didn’t hurt my feelings. My experience as a business owner and major tax producer has brought me to a place where I am willing to participate in local town halls and panels as long as I feel they are designed to come up with solutions to assist the city, law enforcement and the general public on ways to improve the overall safety and security of the general public, business owners, employees and folks that visit our city.
