Underground civil work. Drive tractor/trailer. Transport material and equipment including backhoe and excavators. Hand dig and machine dig. Keep everything tidy and stocked. Splice tracer wire and fit/connect conduit. Pull wire/troubleshoot. Help dig and set vaults. Plumb Vaults. Set pedestals/transformers/switch cabinets. Clean and reopen road closures (backfill, tamping, cold patch, asphalt, etc.) As well as many other related tasks.
Overhead mountain work. Drive diggers and pickups towing air compressors and materials. Jackhammer and long shovels digging pole holes. Helping line crews set replacement poles. Help with helicopter sets. Hiking into remote areas. Demo old poles and outdated material. Upkeep/organizing the yard and material. General maintenance on equipment and vehicles. Running hand lines and assisting lineman. Power outages and snow storms.
