Over the past 4 months, I have had the opportunity to learn about the role of a general contractor. This internship has given me great insight into what the duties of an assistant project manager entail.

Tasks Appointed to Me:

• I worked on the pre-construction process for the 18,000 SF Convergence 2nd Floor build-out project. This required me to complete a take-off using on-screen take-off software. I was asked to call trade partners to send in their bids for the project. Handling the bid process requires me to understand the project scope completely and know the trade packages through. In the end, I was able to attend an OAC GMP meeting, in which I learned a lot, but mostly how to balance getting what the owner wants but within their budget.
• I also worked on the 5th & Walnut project, which is a 4-story corn shell project. While the project is in the stage of mobilizing, the Project manager tasked me and his assistant project manager to work on submittals. Some of the submittals we worked on were plumbing, elevator, rebar, steel, and bathroom partitions.
• My last assignment was handling punch lists and closet documents for PC North Remodel and PC Centennial. This process helped my communication skills with trades on the job and their project manager. This required me to do multiple punch list walks with different trades and in some cases call and schedule when they can come to the job to complete their work to the owners standard and Lingo's

I worked on the Yukon High School IPF and Audition. This was my first time on a jobsite, and I gained so much hands-on experience.

• I manage the pier drilling and pouring for the indoor facility. Around 120 piers at an average depth of 20 feet.
• Estimating and Ordering concrete
• Tying Rebar
• Building forms for footings

Dream Walks is a fencing and landscaping company out of Owasso. I wanted to get my hands dirty and get some experience. Here are some of the tasks I did during my time with that company.

• Fence layout
• Digging and setting a fence post
• Laid and cut bricks for a retaining wall along with flower beds.
• Create materials list
• Use multiple tools to assemble a fence (nail guns, skill saw, augers, etc)
