Talent acquisition and management
- Lead recruiting and hiring efforts to ensure a strong talent pipeline that meets business and guest needs.
- Partner with store leaders to onboard new team members and deliver training that closes skill gaps and drives continuous learning.
- Coach and consult with business leaders to help them develop their teams and manage talent effectively.
- Lead performance management efforts, set clear expectations, and hold team members accountable.
Team member engagement and culture
- Champion an inclusive and equitable store culture where team members feel heard and valued.
- Resolve employee concerns and create an open-door culture that minimizes business disruption.
- Plan and manage team operational programs related to culture, pay, rewards, and benefits.
- Engage and educate the store team on Target's community initiatives.
Strategic leadership and business partnership
- Act as a consultant to fellow store leaders and influence partners at all levels of the organization.
- Anticipate and identify business trends to support store health and drive profitable sales.
- Use expertise to guide leaders on staffing strategies, including scheduling systems and pay practices.
- Demonstrate strong business acumen by reading financial reports and interpreting data.
Operations and compliance
- Lead and enforce a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Plan, lead, and follow up on operational changes in the store.
- As a key carrier, follow all safe and secure training and processes.
- Address other store needs as they arise, including emergencies or regulatory visits.
