Over the years I've had a few different jobs that have all helped me in different areas. The jobs I seem to excel at the best are working with people. I enjoy talking with customers and taking care of their needs. With suppling value in either the product or in myself. I enjoy multitasking and staying busy with work throughout the day. I enjoy to travel to visit and new areas and people.
My first job out of high school was working at a bowling alley. Lots of family members grew up around bowling so for me it seem natural to work at one as well. I moved up to being the pro shop manager. It was at that position where I seemed to find the skill to work with people face to face and supply them with the right bowling ball for them. Some of the daily task as the manager was as follows.
Daily cleaning up of the shop to make it look clean and presentable for customers.
Keeping the shop stocked and inventory levels up.
Drilling bowling balls to fit the customers hand and making sure the bowling ball fit their style of bowling.
Lots of face to face connection hearing what the customer is saying and suppling value in my knowledge of equipment to make sure they get the most out of their game and want to be repeat customers for future business.
As a car salesman, I worked with people face to face and over the phone. I analyzed the customer's needs, and worked to match them with the best vehicle possible, all while trying to stay in their budget. I also kept a close eye on new inventory or trades in order to keep track of available vehicles. On average, I called 10 to 20 potential customers a day to inquire if they were in the market for a new car. Typically, I sold 8 cars a month putting me in the top 4 of the 12 salesmen we had on staff.
As a Fedex driver it's a fast pace environment. Every morning I organized my first 15 to 20 stops at a time, in the order that is most efficient. I average 100 to 160 stops a day. I deal with face to face contact with business and residential areas. I've covered all 10 routes Kevin owns; delivering from west Duluth up the north shore into Two Harbors.
As a driver I started off on the Grand Rapids route since then I've learned 6 additional routes Graybar has. Going from Duluth, cloquet, brainerd up to hibbing and out to Wisconsin.
I would talk with the forman at the job site making sure they got the correct parts as well as keeping side notes of up coming parts needed or different places to drop off the order.
From there have moved into a warehouse role picking electrical parts and pipe for orders the same or next day. I would be in charge of checking in all the product coming off the semi throughout the day as well as shipping product out. Other jobs included typing in returns to be put back in the warehouse and putting product away and keeping the warehouse neat and organized.
As a customer service representative, I am constantly talking to customers either through emailing on the phone or face to face. I am in charge on many accounts with placing orders follow ups and doing returns. Along with doing orders I'm reaching out to reps of other manufacturers if our customer needs specific products and getting price and lead times. Putting together quotes for them and then processing the order making sure lead times are correct along with pricing and product.
Over the years I've had a lot of face to face contact with people in my jobs I feel I'm good at selling and working in sales Worked with computers a lot either with social media in the pro shop or sending emails to customers at Sonju With Fedex I've gained better driving skills, been driving at Fedex for almost 3 years now with no accidents With my jobs I've had to be very organized with either keeping the pro shop looking clean and up to date or putting stops in order at Fedex to find the fastest route to get the packages delivered
With Graybar I've learned our delivery process to picking orders and organization within the warehouse to answering phone calls, emailing order entry and learning product
