  • Assisted with grow-in of green and fairway nursery.
  • Created weekly plans to organize day to day tasks for crew operations. Using excel spreadsheet to assign tasks to crew members.
  • Devised plans to improve efficiency for course operations.
  • Developed strong relationships with fellow employees and club members through consistent communication and problem-solving efforts. Sat in on member town hall meetings to understand expectations and future club plans.
  • Gained knowledge of data collecting to make informed decisions. Using clipping volume, green speed, and firmness we can determine cultural practices needed for the coming days and weeks. This information is also used to monitor moisture levels.
  • Mastered extensive chemical applications to bent grass playing surfaces.

  • I became familiar with how championship-level courses prepare for tournaments (club tournaments). Club tournaments were treated like many hosted USGA and PGA events.
  • Visited many area courses and networked with superintendents.
  • Worked firsthand with assistant superintendents to resurface tee boxes and range tees. Surfaces were laser graded to remove excess soil and to flatten old, crowned teeing surfaces. Sod was laid back down after completion of leveling. Tile drainage installed in areas that were deemed potentially problematic. Range tees were reseeded and grown in.
