Mathew McLeod; Information Security Technology Lead

September 8, 2023, Matthew reported directly to Tyler

I have worked with Tyler for five years now, and she is the bar that I will use to measure all other leaders throughout my career.

Tyler possesses an exceptional blend of technical expertise and business acumen. Her ability to seamlessly transition from delivering executive-level presentations to diving into intricate engineering designs is remarkable. In any business-critical project, Tyler is the driving force that ensures successful completion. She wears so many hats for our team that it amazes me how she can accomplish everything she does.

Beyond her impressive skill set and unwavering work ethic, what truly sets Tyler apart is her dedication to people. She goes the extra mile to understand individuals and align their roles with their career aspirations. Tyler consistently acknowledges her team's contributions and selflessly promotes their advancement, often bypassing personal opportunities for the greater good. Her genuine care for people is unparalleled in my experience.

Jared Strickland; Information Security Manager at Advance Auto Parts

September 8, 2022, Jared reported to Tyler

Tyler is an intelligent, amazing, and strong leader. I have had the pleasure to work with her for over 7 years. She goes above and beyond to ensure her company and team members (regardless of whether they report to her or not) are successful. She always finds ways to improve processes, and prides herself and her team on efficiency. Tyler has grown our Cyber Security program exponentially since we first met. With the knowledge, skills, and hard work, Tyler is a valuable asset to any company she wants to work for.

Bryan Burr; Cloud Service Owner & Engineering Director

January 16, 2020, Bryan reported directly to Tyler

Tyler is one of the strongest and most supportive leaders I’ve had in my 23+ years of working across 8 or so different companies. In the 9 months I reported to her, she made a direct impact on my ability to present and interact with other teams by providing constructive feedback. I know that she has her employees, team, coworkers, and company's best interests in mind.

She is the go-to person for all the team members when they need advice; outside her team and even outside of the department. I think the fact that she is genuinely compassionate and interested in the well-being of her coworkers draws people to her. Her leadership by example motivates the team to do their best.

Tyler steps in to assist with projects and programs outside of her vulnerability management department to get them started or keep them running smoothly. She is the roadblock breaker who gets things done despite obstacles. There isn’t more than a day in any given week where someone outside of the department doesn’t come into the office looking for her assistance or advice on getting things done.

She always gives her team members and others credit for everything the team has accomplished, but I know without her drive, the Information Security department would not be anywhere close to where it is today.

Tim Cranny, PhD; Principal at The Cranny Group LLC: Strategic Advisory Services for Information Security, vCISO

March 9, 2019, Tim managed Tyler directly

Tyler reported directly to me at Advance Auto Parts, and was an invaluable leader in the Office of Information Security in multiple ways. Her passion, her diligence, and her consistent focus on building and protecting the team made her a key contributor to both the short-term and long-term success of the security organization. She was always willing to take on new challenges, and attacked those challenges with a combination of hard work and professionalism that consistently produced strong results. Her attention to detail and execution was always first-rate, as was her commitment to the team, and she contributed greatly to both defining and enhancing the culture within the security group. I would happily recommend her for any one of a wide range of key positions in information security.

Joel Youngs; New division launch; Secure Robotics

October 19, 2017, Joel managed Tyler directly

I can't say enough good things about Tyler.  I believe Tyler is capable of being successful in any job or profession.  She quickly learns new information & skills and combines it with her already considerable bank of knowledge.  She adapts her style of communication and people interactions to match the situation and environment.  Her work ethic drives her to be better each day than the day before and failure is not an option with Tyler.  I think the quality that I love most , however, is her genuine way of connecting with people.  While Tyler's great work contributed significantly to the team, her lasting impact is actually her contribution to the chemistry of the team and her challenge to achieve more, think critically, and to ensure every team member has been taken care of along the way was a large component of the success of an amazing team.

Christopher Spencer; Retired at Life Fulfillment

June 5, 2015, Christopher worked with Tyler but they were at different companies

I can speak first-hand to her integrity, knowledge and the ease of doing business and working with Tyler. She provides great client service and strives to build long lasting business partnerships and relationships.
The old saying that enthusiasm is contagious is the best way to summarize the passion that Tyler Nguyen brings to work every day. There are many people with excellent technical skills but when combined with Tyler’s enthusiastic approach to Salesforce projects results in very satisfied customers. Customers who are very excited about the transformational aspects of using the Salesforce platform have their decisions validated when they meet Tyler and see her enthusiasm for delivering transformational change with whatever project she is working on. I can recommend Tyler without reservation.

Steven E. Anderson; President at Safe House Solutions dba Radon Safe LLC

January 18, 2014, Steven E. worked with Tyler on the same team

Tyler is an amazing strategist who understands the tactical business process implications of the execution phases. I found her financial scenario modeling very robust and flexible which was a necessity as the business model objectives were very fluid at Pixel Optics. She was exceptionally adept at offering alternative scenarios to support the changing landscape. Shoko Goto; Project Manager/ Program Management Office/Business Management at Barclays Investment Bank

June 4, 2012, Shoko worked with Tyler on the same team

I worked with Tyler at UBS SAP implementation project. She managed several streams of the project well given resource constraint. In addition, she managed to form a large network of people in a short period of time to complete the assignment. She is a good communicator and her interaction with her colleagues as well as senior managers played critical role at the project,

Cheryl Valentine; Director, New Business, Life Division

May 24, 2012, Cheryl worked with Tyler but on different teams

What I find most impressive about Tyler is her analytical ability; She is able to cut through clutter and confusion to rapidly assess a situation, prioritize the issues and develop solutions and strategies to move forward. She is goal oriented and has a strong work ethic but what I particularly admire about her is her sheer determination and her resilience. She is also generous, kind and easy-going which contributes to her success as a valuable team player. She has been the go-to person on numerous large-scale projects for several large Fortune 500 companies and she has many years of experience working in demanding environments. It is difficult for me to imagine any situation or project that she couldn't manage effectively.

Jack Barson; Owner, Terra National Real Estate

May 16, 2012, Jack worked with Tyler but they were at different companies

In the four years I have worked with Tyler, I have found her to be one of the most diligent and conscientious workers I have ever been around. Tyler exudes constant energy and an eye for detail that along with her strong financial background and negotiating skills make her a terrific dealmaker. Simply put though, she knows how to get things done no matter what the circumstance, and would be a valuable asset for any organization.

James Lambert; Sr. Managing Director, Industrial Investments at Elion Partners

May 16, 2012, James managed Tyler directly

Tyler is a great business partner. She is extremely analytical, smart, hardworking and fun to be around. She knows how to handle adversity and consistently delivered results significantly above expectations. She is well liked by people at all levels and has been a mentor to several people in various disciplines who have sought her out. I even offered one of them a job, that without her, we would have never been connected. My favorite part of working with Tyler was that she could get things done and done with minimal casualties. I could count on her to deliver something better than I was expecting as she would anticipate what I wanted.

Tyler demonstrates a great executive presence; she is comfortable around senior leadership, makes recommendations and is decisive but most of all confident without being arrogant. Her self-deprecating sense of humor is both honest and humble. It’s also an asset whether it’s in a negotiation or just trying to lighten the mood of others. I really miss working with her.

Eric Wolf; Vice President at AMERICAN SYSTEMS

April 25, 2012, Eric worked with Tyler but on different teams

I had the opportunity to work with Tyler at an Internet startup and was amazed by the level of energy she brought to the table. Her creativity, drive, and business savvy led to her successfully landing the first live deployment of the company’s flagship product.
