  • Participated in a two-week simulated Martian analog mission as lead botanist for Crew 274 to the Mars Desert Research Station to conduct germination studies of long-duration exposed tomato seeds flown on NASA's Long Duration Exposure Facility (LDEF) payload between 1984-1990 in support of future crewed spaceflight research initiatives.
