I am a Teacher's Assistant at Maricopa High School. I worked my way up as a Grocery Stocker at Walmart, where I learned to move between departments as needed, and led small teams of people for the first time. I found a method of communicating complex instructions with my hard of hearing coworkers. At Majorel I studied Finance, Privacy Laws, Financial Regulation, and Descalation. I was twice granted the Customer Kudos Award, because multiple times customers asked for a supervisor to compliment my customer service skills. By the end of my role at Majorel I was training the new class how to move into my function. At Harras Ak-Chin Casino, I worked my way up from a room cleaner to Clerk. I printed off schedules for the cleaning department and kept track of the cleaners location for report to management, moved employees between tasks based on management requirements, maintained cleaning department tools, and interfaced with guests on behalf of my team in front and back of the house roles. As a Teacher's Assistant I manage disabled students, one on one, or in small groups of up to 8, so the teacher can spend the majority of his or her time on outreach and administrative tasks. I have learned a great deal about mental health and how to keep a special needs person happy and productive in their place of work. I have taught students individually, taught students how to teach each other, broke up fights, calmed students down after fights and emotional outbursts, and worked with a variety of people with radically different social backgrounds, cognitive levels, and education.
