Tyler Jordan Greer

• Mentee of Dr. Thomas McSwain. Duties included leading a young male small group, teaching small groups, and discipling young male students. Developed and implemented programs for youth. Instructed on how to build outlines for sermons, understand the culture of a particular church, and understand sound, biblical teaching.

• Duties included teaching private lessons to high school students, teaching ensemble music class, assisted with the high school marching band working with all 9th-12th grade students on a regular basis.

• Duties are similar to Administrative Assistant. Roles include hands on in media design, working in excel, word office, creating posters, creating flyers, working events in formal settings, creative thinking skills, people skills within the office, and being a positive colleague.

• Duties included serving in ministry as a musician on the music staff, leading guests in worship service, and performing weekly for over 10,000 guests throughout the summer

Mission Statement: “To be a safe space for sharing Christ centered thoughts. And to be a light to those who are searching for the truth during their time as a student/professor at the University of Kentucky.”

• My professor reached out and asked if I would like to be a part of starting a small bible study with-in the College of Fine-Arts at the University of Kentucky. We would have about 5-8 people that would rotate to attend this bible study. Members of the small group range from Christ-followers, non-believers who were searching for answers. We met every Tuesday evening at 6:30 at a Qdoba directly across from campus. An informal time as we ate tacos and enjoyed God’s word.

• Duties included teaching lessons, mentoring undergraduate students occasionally, performing in the University of Kentucky’s top music ensembles, and assisting with the Wildcat Marching Band of the Univ. of Kentucky. This unique fellowship and job position allows me to gain one-on-one interaction on the collegiate level while obtaining my masters degree.

Selected through video audition. A month-long summer intensive orchestral and opera program performing concerts throughout Europe. Masterclasses and coaching led by members of the Vienna Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic, and the Czech Philharmonic.

• HCC Marching Band Camp is a two week summer camp. As a musical tech, my duties and responsibilities included judging auditions, teaching sectionals for the trombone, euphonium, and tuba sections during the duration of the marching camp of Hinds Community College. Also included working one on one with college aged students.

• The MSBC Orchestra Fellowship aimed to give young professional musicians an opportunity to serve in weekly worship services, special musical programs, and as soloists. This allowed me to use my gift of music to continue to serve within a church.
