Accomplishments

    2022 Governor’s Scholar (July 2022)

I was accepted into the Governor’s Scholars Program in April 2022, a prestigious 5-week summer program in Kentucky that recognizes rising high school seniors for their academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and service. I participated in the Journalism and Mass Media Focus Area, along with other classes and club activities that provided valuable insight into college life. The program also offers opportunities for scholarships to most Kentucky institutions, ranging from partial to full tuition when applying to schools.

    Fall 2023 Dean’s List (December 2023)

I was named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2023 semester. This recognition was given to students like me who have attained a 3.50–4.0 grade point average for this semester.

Panelist at Discussion Series (September 2024)

I participated in a student panel alongside three peers to share personal experiences, cultural differences, and challenges of being raised by immigrant parents in the United States. I engaged in an open dialogue with the audience, answered questions, and discussed ways to create understanding and support for students from immigrant backgrounds.

Panelist at Leadership Workshop (February 2025)

I participated in a panel focused on leadership within the various RSO programs offered at EKU. As the Vice President of the AFA Club, I collaborate with the President to lead the club. I discussed how my contributions significantly impact our efforts by assisting in planning and executing events, managing logistics, and ensuring effective communication, all of which support the club's mission and goals.

    Betsy Stafford Scholarship (April 2025)

I received this scholarship in honor of Betsy Stafford, the founder of Kappa Delta Tau. The scholarship program was created to recognize and support members who embody the organization’s mission in their pursuit of higher education. I was honored for my academic achievements and sisterly contributions to the chapter, receiving a $300 stipend for placing second.

2025 Anne Peyton Award (April 2025)

The Anne Peyton Award was presented to me at EKU's 2025 Student Excellence Awards by the Center for Africana Engagement through the AFA Program. It recognizes students who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to diversity, inclusion, and community engagement, particularly in areas related to African and African American experiences, and I'm so honored to have received this award.
